Living as royalty was something that you were still becoming used to. Your small nation had recently been created out of a violent civil war, and was had just been freshly minted as it's own independent country. Of course, many things were still tumultuous, and it was important that the civilians and soldier's morale was kept high.

Your own family had been one of the key players in the civil war, and a deciding factor in many military victories. The war had been harsh and unforgiving for both sides of the battlefield, but somehow you had managed to scrape by. The people's thankfulness showed; your family was crowned as the royal household of your fledgling nation, and you in particular were offered the honor of becoming a high ranking military commander, a position of enviable power and respect. It would be safe to say that you were someone of utmost importance to your beloved country, and that the nation relied heavily on your family to keep the peace among the populace, as well as handle international affairs.

As a result, the topic of accumulating more military strength had come up during many council meetings. There were many larger and more powerful nations that bordered your own, and the threat of being invaded and consumed by one of them loomed over your head, becoming more and more prominent with each passing day.

You were with luck however, for there had been a dungeon that had appeared recently, just a few months ago. It was a tall jutting spire that lay on the outskirts of your nations land, waiting to be claimed by some fearless adventurer.

When the topic of whom would go to capture it came up, it was unanimously decided that you'd be the best candidate. All the royal advisers were in agreeance that your youth and strength would lend itself towards capturing it, and that the people rallied behind you more than anyone else. To see their fearless leader become the first dungeon conqueror of the country would bring nationwide celebration, and help bring not only renown, but more strength to the forces of your country.

Honestly, you were happy to oblige; you'd heard many stories about the amazing and terrifying things that lay in dungeons, and the power that lie in wait to be grasped. The advisers weren't wrong either, you most likely had the highest probability of getting out of the dungeon alive and triumphant.

In preparation to travel with, you decided to have a close friend come with you. Her name was Sola, and she'd been a long time friend of yours. She loyally helped at your side when the revolution and civil war had swept across the land. Although she wasn't as capable a fighter as you were, she was still able to back you up sufficiently, and her senses were sharp enough to help keep the two of you out of danger. The bond you two shared was rather close, and you knew you'd get along much better with her, than with some of the other power hungry generals that served under you.

Travelling to the dungeon and spending your first few days adventuring in it were simple. You two had packed substantial provisions, and with your twos combined skills of force and finesse, the weaker creatures of the dungeon weren't an issue as you ascended.

But as the minutes turned to hours, and the hours turned to days, you started to become worried. How long had it been since you'd entered the dungeon? It was impossible to tell time inside the warped world, and trials were becoming more and more dangerous as you two ascended. Sola and you had each saved eachothers life multiple times from harrowing traps and dangerous beasts. Yet still, the end of the dungeon seemed to be nowhere in site.

By around what you assumed was the 5th day spent inside the tower, you finally reached the throne room of the dungeon. When you and Sola had entered, the many symbols that were carved into the floor began to glow a bright red, and a giant strange entity that you guessed was the djinn appeared.

It began looking over the two of you. "Hmph. I guess you managed to make it all the way to the top, even though you two are so weak." it complained, looking unimpressed. You didn't like it's attitude very much, but kneeled before it's presence, bowing your head in respect.

The djinn smirked. "Was it you, that brought these two before me, O' Magi?" it pondered aloud.

You looked up in confusion. "What are you talking abou-...!" suddenly your voice was interrupted by the sound of bare feet padding into the room.

You became instantly alerted and drew your sword, prepared to defeat whatever being had just entered. When you looked, you saw that it was only a young man. He was relatively tall and slim, but well muscled; his long black hair was tied back in a bobbled style. Something about his detached and cool crimson gaze sent a shiver crawling up your spine. A crooked grin wormed it's way on to his face at your reaction, and he casually crossed his arms behind his head.

"...Me? Why would I want to escort two pathetic weaklings like these." he spat out, giving a disdainful look at you and your friend. You moved in front of her, in case he was thinking about attacking. For some reason this seemed to be very funny to him, because he doubled over laughing, clasping his hands over his stomach to try and contain himself. You scowled.

"I reached the top floor of this dungeon first, therefore it is mine by right. I'm sorry you had to travel all the way up here, but I have come to claim this djinn." you spoke with a controlled calmness, as you raised your weapon, looking fierce. Suddenly, the atmosphere of the room seemed to grow dark. The man straightened up, looking down at you with a serious expression.

"Those are some awfully bold words coming from a filthy little trespasser like yourself." he spoke, drawing a small wand like object from his chunnari and pointing it at you and Sola. The next thing you knew, a blast with the force of a charging bull slammed into your stomach, sending you and your friend hurtling backwards and smashing into the pillar behind you. The pillar cracked and bits of rubble and debris fell from the impact.

"I was the one who raised this dungeon, and I really hate it when strangers like you think they can just waltz in and take whatever they'd like." he said with a glare, looking down on you further.

"P-Please princess, run away, and I will cover for you to escape from this man..." Sola whispered quietly to you as the two of you got up, body's aching all over.

"Hm? Did you say princess?" despite his distance, somehow he'd heard your friend's words perfectly, and now his face reflected that his interests had been piqued.

"...I am [Name] [Lastname], royal princess and high commander of [Nation]." you spoke quietly, but with an undertone of strength, as you prepared yourself in case he attacked again.

"Huh?! Some little shorty like you has a position like that?!" he seemed shocked as you approached, on guard and ready for his magic this time.

"Although you did not lead these two here, they are indeed the conqueror's of this dungeon, O' Magi." the djinn finally spoke up, sizing you up with an icy look. "I shall lend my strength to you, capturer." it finally spoke to you, before opening up a shining beacon of light.

"This shall lead you to the outside world, whenever you are ready." You were ecstatic with joy that the djinn had accepted you as it's vessel, and for the first time in days you felt relieved.

Thoughts of all the treasures and strange new weapons you could bring back to your country immediately entered your thoughts, as you began looking around at what to take back with you. The djinn de-materialized, and emblazoned itself as a 8 pointed star, crested on the base of your sword.

You were about to start collecting some of the treasure from the room, before the man from before swung his wand again, this time not aimed at you, but at the pillars and beams of the room. Large blasts went off, destroying everything that lay before them, and the room began collapsing.

"W-What the hell is your problem!?" you yelled in startled anger, before grabbing Sola's hand and dashing to the pillar of light before it began to fade away. The man smirked, sharp red eyes piercing your own as he lazily strolled towards the portal himself.

"Don't think you can get away with whatever you want, just because the djinn said you could. This is still my dungeon, after all." he responded nonchalantly.

The ceiling began collapsing in on itself. As the young man stepped into the pillar of light, it began to glow a bit brighter and you could tell it was preparing to transport the three of you out of the dungeon.

"Hm. It's a little cramped in here, don't you think?" he declared with a sadistic grin.

Before you could stop him, he grabbed Sola's arm, and flung her out of the safe passage, right into the way of a falling boulder.

You cried out as you tried to reach out and grab her hand, but were stopped when the same man grabbed your arm, holding you back.

Just like that, your dear friend's life was extinguished before your very own eyes, as drops of blood were splattered on to you.

"Ahh, that's much better, don't you think?"

The same wicked smile curled onto his lips as your screaming wails rang out; the pillar of light disappeared, taking you and the man dressed all in black with it.
Another yandere story. (Woops) It was requested by a few people on Quotev, so I decided 'why not'. xD
